The Charity Newsies Mission
Our mission is that no child be kept out of school for lack of adequate clothing. Newsies completes that mission by purchasing new apparel and distributing it free of charge to school children in Franklin County, Ohio.

Charity Newsies Operations 2010-11 School Year
Charity Newsies will begin taking applications for the 2010-11 school year on Tuesday September 7th. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM. We will begin evening hours for applications only, Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday September 13th. Evening hours will be 5:30 - 8:00 PM. In addition, we will be taking applications at designated library branches on Saturday Mornings.
Charity Newsies provides school clothing to children that live in Franklin County and attend school, grades K - 12. Only the parents or legal guardian of the children can make application for assistance. Parent or guardian must bring a photo ID, Social Security Card or Taxpayer ID for you and Social Security Card or Health ID for the children. In addition, you must bring proof of any income or government assistance you are receiving (SSI, Food Stamps, etc.). Also, for any child age 5 or entering Kindergarten and any child age 16 and older, parent or guardian must bring a school letter verifying enrollment.
Charity Newsies Library Outreach Program
The Charity Newsies in partnership with the Columbus Metropolitan Library will once again be taking applications at local Library Branches as part of our On The Road Program.
